We've been living in our new place for 2 weeks and we absolutely LOVE it!!! I have finally gotten into a routine of my "SAHM" duties and I get so much accomplished in such a small amount of time that I don't know why I was so lazy in the beginning! I guess it's true what they say about when you buy your first home, you really do want to take better care of it. The house is cleaned everyday, dishes and laundry done everyday, and I'm able to work out and shower everyday. Sophie loves sitting in her high chair playing with her laptop so that helps entertain her while I get things done.
We went to our new ward on Sunday and we love it! They're so nice and helpful. Technically we went last week but as we weren't sure which ward we were in and what time to go we decided to go to the 11 o'clock and just ask someone there. Turns out it was stake conference, the morning session from 9:30-11 so everyone was leaving as we were arriving. Luckily a couple people saw us come in "late" and came to talk to us to let us know when the next session was. We told them we had no idea where we were supposed to go and when we told them where we lived one of the guys said he knew exactly which ward we belonged to! He's in that ward as well and says our bishop is amazing which will be nice since our last one wasn't so much. Then again he had quite a lot to live up to compared to Bishop Caplin!
Last week we went to Ryan's high school graduation. After I edit the pictures (horrible fluorescents) I'll post them, but we did get a few of Sophie with Chantyl in the grass for the first time.
Actually I found some pics from the graduation that were taken outside where the lighting was better.

If you've been on Facebook you probably saw the video of Sophie sucking on a pickle. Since she loved that I gave her a strawberry a couple days later and she was actually gnawing on it! Kind of concerns me because I'm so nervous that she'll choke, but she loved it! I want to give her a banana, maybe cut up into little pieces....still nervous about it. Maybe I'll wait for Coden to be home when I do it because he was better at the CPR and demonstration of what to do when you're baby is choking that we had to do before she was released.
She really is getting a lot better at eating, but I really have to time it right. If I don't then she just giggles and spits the entire time, thinking it's hilarious. She also allows me to place her on her belly for tummy time. Depending on her mood she'll either whine herself to sleep or actually push herself up and scoot in circles. Yesterday I finally got to see her roll over! After the first time I saw it she rolled over every time we put her on her belly. Figured out she has to be slightly frustrated enough to push herself over with her hands, if she's overly frustrated she just buries her face and cries.
She loves standing. She prefers it over sitting or laying down and her legs are getting so strong! I just hope the thing we bought online to help her with that comes soon.
We ordered her birthday invitations and we should get them on Thursday. Maybe we should have paid the extra to have it delivered in 7 days vs 14 days because by the time everyone gets theirs it'll be just a week before her birthday!
I'm trying to remember if anything else exciting has happened in the last couple weeks but I'm coming up with nothing so... till next time!

Such cute pictures!
ReplyDeleteBananas are so easy for babies to eat because they are mushy. The smaller I cut Kiera's food the more she would choke on them becuase she could shove lots of them in her mouth and they were the perfect size to get stuck. But if I gave her a big piece of banana she was less likely to choke. Does that make sense?
ReplyDeleteAnyways, Sophie is getting so freaking big. INSANE! We miss you guys! Come visit again soon!
Yeah that makes sense. I'll have to do that, just give her the whole thing and let her have at it! We'll be close by watching so I'm sure she'll be fine. I had to take the strawberry away because she was gnawing off big chunks.
